RV stays in Iowa
Driftless bluffs, Mississippi overlooks, and small farm towns where the food is the surprise.
Search IowaA traveler's overview
Iowa's reputation is corn. The reality is the driftless area in the northeast — limestone bluffs, trout streams, hill towns the glaciers missed. The Loess Hills along the western edge are the only formation like them in the Western Hemisphere outside China.
CurbNTurf hosts here are heritage farms and quiet country pads. Pace is slow, prices are reasonable, and you'll mostly be sharing roads with combines.

Roads, food, and seasons in Iowa
The Driftless Area Scenic Byway through northeast Iowa beats every state park drive in the state. Plan a long lunch in Decorah, hit Effigy Mounds, and cross the Black Hawk Bridge into Wisconsin if you're feeling it.
Iowa farm food is undersold. Stop at Hatchery Hill in Lansing, Pulpit Rock Brewing in Decorah, and any small-town meat locker for jerky and brats. Sweetcorn season in August is real.
Severe weather is part of summer here — tornado watches roll through May and June. Have a go-bag and a NOAA weather radio in the rig if you're traveling those months.
